Pingen ... what are actually Pingen? The circular hiking trail EifelSpur "Pingenwanderweg" provides some really interesting insights on the approximately 11 kilometers around the topic. Without giving away too much, it can be said: Pingen are abandoned ore mines or mining sites where iron ores, lead ores, or other minerals were mined in the past. In the region around Kall and throughout the entire Nordeifel, there are several thousand such Pingen. It is clear that a dedicated theme hike has been created for them.
Thanks to fascinating insights as well as picturesque views, the EifelSpur was awarded the quality hiking trail "Wanderbares Deutschland" by the German Hiking Association.
