LandStreifer "Castle Standoff" - in Lüdinghausen

Castle Lüdinghausen: A beautiful starting point for the beginning of your hike. The castle is a typical Renaissance castle. It is surrounded by a magnificent park, which used to form the fortification system, and is referred to by the people of Lüdinghausen as the "Castle of the Citizens".
Next stop for you is Klutensee. Enjoy the peace and the sound of nature. Small bays and wonderful greenery surround the lake. Here you can observe waterfowl using the lake as a breeding ground. Between meadows and fields, on small paths, you continue through a wonderfully rural area.
From there, you will hike to the next namesake of this land rover, Castle Vischering. It is considered the ideal example of a Münsterland water castle. Today, it is a cultural center and the home of the Münsterland Museum, but centuries ago it had a very different purpose, that of a fortress. It looks defiant with its drawbridge, arrow slits, and battlements.
