With a height difference of 145 m, this trail is relatively challenging. Over a distance of about 450 m, hikers can expect a gradient of more than 10%, with the ascent from the Basmecketal valley being very steep, requiring surefootedness and only accessible with sturdy hiking shoes.
The steepest section is overcome with the help of a staircase structure. As the path mainly runs through open landscapes, it offers many views, but no shaded sections. Many benches - especially in the Basmecketal valley - are available for rest breaks. Taking these into account, one should plan for 1.5 hours.
