Original village structures with old half-timbered houses alternate with expansive forest areas, idyllic stream valleys, old ponds, lakes, and vast open land.

Where once the Counts of Hoya ruled, today the signposted "Counts' Ring" leads interested cyclists on a 75 km long circular route past the count's castle, the collegiate church in Bücken, the geographical center of Lower Saxony, windmills, watermills, and other highlights. The route is flexible to ride due to four different connecting paths.

Using the map template, you have the opportunity to ride the Counts' Ring from any starting point. Simply follow the signage with the red symbol of the Counts' Ring. The differently colored symbols of the Counts' Ring in dark blue, green, yellow, and light blue indicate the individual connecting routes and offer various combination options. They refer to historical events as well as old local legends.

You will learn about what the dwarves were up to in the count's castle, how a poltergeist haunted the rectory in Hoyerhagen, and where the Bücken collegiate church should be located.
