Gravel-Genuss-Tour: Gärtners Restaurant Ubstadt-Weiher

Start at Bad Schönborn train station, ride through picturesque landscapes to Östringen, climb hilly passes, enjoy the view from the hilltop sofa and take a break at Gärtners Restaurant before crowning the end of the tour with a refreshing dip in the Hardtsee lake and returning through the Lußhardt forest.

Are you ready for a gravel adventure in the land of 1000 hills? In addition to crunching gravel paths, this route features several (newly signposted) mountain passes and far-reaching views as far as the Palatinate, just waiting to be explored by you.

Start at the train station in the spa and bathing community of Bad Schönborn. From here, roll to the end of Bad Mingolsheim before turning right onto the field paths. The grass is high, the birds are chirping and every now and then you cross a small stream. You can see that too! The first gravel paths await you until you reach the town of Östringen. The first few kilometers are done, from now on it's uphill and collect passes! Through the Östringen alder forest, past Schindelbach and Altenberg to the first highlight and pass of the tour: the "Hohe Straße" towers 241 m high. Stop for a moment, take a pass selfie and add it to the wall of fame before jetting off to the next pass on the tour. Next up is the "Gallusbildhäusel" pass at 261 m and, last but not least, the "Schindelberg" pass at 266 m. From up here you have a fantastic view over the hilly landscape.

But now it's time for the descent! The route takes you past vineyards and down the hill to Odenheim, a district of Östringen. Once you have crossed the town, the "steepest climb" of the tour awaits you. However, gravel paths are waiting for you at the top! From here, the route takes you through the Pfannnwald forest, past the Himmelreichhütte hut to the Hügelsofa with views over Zeutern and Stettfeld. Take a short breather and enjoy the view for the last time. Because the last part of the tour takes you back to the plain.

But there is also a hill experience waiting for you on the plain: the hill break at Gärtners Rastaurant. Here you can hang your gravel bike in the bike rack during your break. Yeahh!

You see that too! After the break, you pass the Hardtsee lake - fancy a refreshment? Then hop into the lake before riding the last few kilometers through the Lußhardt forest back to Bad Schönborn.
