The circular hike starts in Rinteln from the district of Todenmann towards Frankenburg, also known as Hünenburg. It stands at 235m above sea level and was excavated from under a mound towards the end of the last century and restored with its preserved walls. No data is known about the builders and inhabitants of the castle, but it is presumed to date back to the 11th or 12th century. Several shelters allow for a cozy hike with picnic breaks.
