History was written on this route! The route leads through the picturesque East Elbe landscape around Zeven and past two former nun monasteries. The first monastery, of which the beautiful fieldstone church St. Viti is still preserved, was founded in the 10th century in Heeslingen.
In the 12th century, the entire monastery was relocated to the town of Zeven and here a church was built under the same name. It is rumored that this is due to the "undisciplined behavior" of the nuns. Today, the west wing of the monastery is still preserved, as well as the impressive fieldstone church with its outstanding tower, which Karl Friedrich Gauss used for his land surveying.
