Dümmer Villages Tour

The joint municipality (8,600 inhabitants in seven municipalities) looks back on a long history. The village of Lemförde, the administrative seat of the present joint municipality, is over 750 years old. The lively history, the agricultural character, and the typical architectural culture of the region are present in all places. In the last few decades, the old "castle manor village" with many connections to the adjacent "Westphalian" area has also become a thriving and continuously developing commercial location, where global companies like BASF Polyurethanes and ZF Lemförder have found a home. The inhabitants enjoy living in the Dümmer Nature Park at the foot of the Stemweder Berg (181 m) in close proximity to Lake Dümmer. Numerous shopping opportunities, leisure facilities, as well as a good tourist and gastronomic offer are available to guests and locals.
