From the mountain to the golf course

We follow the extension of the road, the cycle path Bremen - Oeynhausen, along the wall past the first intersection and soon reach a small garden on the left side that can be entered. At the next opportunity, we turn right until we reach "Blanken Schlatt". Here we keep left, a wooden sign "Loorpe" shows us the way. We follow the Redder, lined with trees on the left and right, until the golf course appears on the left side, keep left at the fork and walk along the edge of the golf course.

Walking on the paths on the golf course is allowed, but you should keep an eye on the players. If you ever hear the warning cry "Fore", you should take cover, as this means a player has mishit and a ball is flying through the air. We reach a paved path and turn left. And once again we have the golf course on both the left and right sides. We ignore the first turnoff, as it would take us back to the starting point in the shortest way.

At the junction, we turn right, still with the golf course beside us. When we reach its end, we turn left into the forest. We cross the first intersection and at the second one, where a bench is located, we keep left. We follow this path straight ahead, leading us back. A clearing appears on the left, we continue until just before we reach the end of the forest, where we turn left onto a path. This brings us back to our starting path, turning right we soon reach the destination.

The path is unpaved and can be muddy, sandy, and uneven, as it is also used for horse riding - so wear sturdy shoes. During this walk, we leave the municipality of Weyhe and go as far as Okel. The extensions of the Okel golf course are mostly on our left, the original course is on the right and its full extent is only to be guessed. We encounter different landscape forms: meadows, pine and mixed forests, a Schlatt, a marshy area. The small garden was created in a private initiative, originally there was a wild dump there.

And at the beginning of the path, we have a wall on the right, which served as a sand trap, as the ground here is very sandy. The Jeebeler Wald is a reforestation on an inland dune. An old sand mining area can still be guessed on the left side at the beginning. And again: When passing through the golf course, you must keep an eye on the players. This walk is just a suggestion, it can be extended by continuing to Okeler Bruch or exploring other paths through the forest.
