Bike trail R1 - Erkner to Buckow (Märkische Schweiz)

The Eurocycle route "R1" connects six European countries over more than 3,500 kilometers. Starting from Erkner S-Bahn station, you ride along a road-side cycle path along the Grünheider lakes until Kagel, where a visit to the ostrich farm offers a welcome break. Continuing to follow the "R1" markings, you travel along a lightly trafficked country road and through quaint little villages to Rehfelde and further to Garzau-Garzin. Along the way, attractions such as the fieldstone pyramid in the former park of Count von Schmettau's castle or the Liebenhof observatory invite you to linger. After a relaxing rest, you cycle through shady mixed forest to Waldsieversdorf and on to Buckow. A Kneipp treatment at one of the numerous water-treading spots in Buckow not only relaxes tired legs but also provides a soothing end to the tour.
Tip: In the center of Buckow, the "Parklichtspiele" invite you to a cozy movie night.
