The hiking trail is varied and leads over wide forest paths as well as over the quaint Salzgitter Hoehenweg. Just before Lichtenberg, there is a rest area with a table and benches available for a break. Therefore, it is recommended to bring food. At times, the route runs parallel to the Salzgitter-Lichtenberg geotrail. Corresponding signs provide detailed information on the geology in the urban area.
