The Route 31 Southeast leads through the Salzgitter districts of Barum, Lobmachtersen, Flachstöckheim, Ohlendorf, Groß Mahner, Beinum, Calbecht, Engerode, Gebhardshagen and Heerte. The path through the mostly small villages and rural areas in the southeast of the city runs along field paths and unpaved ground.
A worthwhile detour is the Heerter See. Two observation huts invite you to observe the rich bird life. Today's bird reserve can easily be circled on foot.
This idyllic circular route is mostly flat and without significant inclines.
