Sintfeld-Höhenweg - A path makes the round

The 144 km long hiking trail can be divided into 6 daily stages and is suitable for pleasure hikers thanks to its moderate inclines.

Wide views over the karst plateau with its fields and floodplains provide inspiration for the senses, as does the fresh scent of forests and heaths. Those who look closely can discover exciting geological phenomena such as the disappearing streams. Small watercourses, like the lively river Alme, disappear at significant points in the ground, only to reappear elsewhere.

Also exciting along the way are the numerous insights into the eventful past: stone cists and barrows, ruins, churches, and monastery complexes turn the hike on the Sintfeld-Höhenweg into a historical journey through time.

Numerous cafes, restaurants, and inns along the way also make the hike an encounter with unspoiled Westphalian hospitality and delicious, down-to-earth cuisine.
