From Rüthen, the tour starts heading northeast towards Büren. Initially, it goes slightly downhill through the farmland. From Büren, there are repeated shorter ascents until the beautifully located Aabach reservoir is reached. After circling around it, the route continues through Bleiwäsche into the Almetal and through the Ringelsteiner Wald with one final, slightly longer ascent back to Rüthen.
