The recreation area consists of the "Auesee" landscape lake and the "Kleihügelsee" bathing lake. Simply relax and unwind or be active - the recreation area leaves nothing to be desired!

"Auesee"
First, there is the "Auesee" created between 1979 and 1981. As a landscape lake with a water surface of 8.2 hectares, it provides sufficient habitat for protected plant and animal species together with the adjacent area (approx. 27 hectares). Part of the area is designated as a nature reserve.

"Kleihügelsee"
In the following years, a recreational and bathing lake was created on the west side of the "Große Aue" to provide opportunities for natural recreation. With its characteristic shoreline, the "Kleihügelsee" lake (water surface 5.6 hectares) blends in perfectly with the landscape. Shallow water areas and immediately adjacent marsh and wet meadow areas as well as marsh islands in the lake provide habitat for many plant species. The bathing beach also offers plenty of space for sports and leisure activities for those seeking relaxation.
