The so-called South Route leads the pilgrim from the mountain top in Bergkirchen through the Wiehengebirge to Schnathorst. From here, you cross the ridge path to the north side of the Wiehens and reach Gehlenbeck. Wide views to the south over the Ravensberger Hügelland and to the north over the North German Plain reward the pilgrim during his ascents and descents in the Wiehengebirge.
The so-called North Route leads through flat landscapes characterized by small villages, meadows, and fields on mostly asphalted side roads. From here, the alternative route through the Große Torfmoor is signposted.
