The circular path starts at the parking lot near Wilhelmsburg. The exposed location and the tower to be climbed in the first years made the "castle" a popular destination. At the entrance to the forest at Wilhelmsburg, on the left side, there is the so-called maze. A little further downhill, you come across a group of memorial stones, the so-called stone grotto. Following the path further, on the left and right, there is an area with numerous depressions and incisions in the terrain. Here, the extraction of marl, a sedimentary rock made of clay and limestone, has left its mark. During the Second World War, Lage was repeatedly targeted by bombings. To the right along the path, you can still see the bomb craters as depressions in the terrain. At the end of the circular path, you will find the orchards (5) of the city forest. Even today, the city administration offers fruit for sale and maintains the old fruit varieties.
