Auetaler Highlights

The circular tour to the highlights of Auetal starts at the Auetal Local History Museum in the district of Hattendorf. Here it's all about experiencing tradition! Visitors learn more about the former life in the region. Passing by the Antendorf Windmill, the route leads to a true curiosity of the Weser Uplands, the Süntel Beech. The botanical rarity around Süntel and Deister is known for its peculiar growth and almost seems a bit eerie. On the way, two very different estates are now waiting: the Bodenengern Estate, a picturesque water castle, and the still operational Ölbergen Estate.
In contrast, there is the Ölbergen Valley Bridge. The highway bridge made of sandstone spans the valley over a length of 325 m and is very impressive with its 14 arches. On the way back to Hattendorf, cyclists pass by the Rehren Chapel and a beautiful viewpoint. Along the route, there are many opportunities to take a detour, especially worth visiting are the natour.NAH.center Schillat Cave and the Langenfeld Waterfall.
