Through the lovely Walterbach valley

The "Walterbachtal" was declared a nature reserve in 1987. It comprises a valley floor up to 100 meters wide with the approximately three-meter-wide Walterbach, as well as adjacent slopes predominantly covered with species-rich beech and oak forests. The valley floor is largely occupied by meadows, which provide a valuable habitat for numerous animal and plant species.
Of particular importance are the springs and springy areas located in the slope areas, with their rich occurrence of spring flowers. In the stream itself, there are brown trout and bullheads. At the same time, the valley serves as a habitat for amphibians and as a breeding and resting place for numerous bird species. From the Hassel parking lot, you can directly enter the lovely Walterbachtal. After walking through the forest, the landscape opens up, offering impressive views of the Süntel Valley. Shortly before Eimbeckhausen, there is the opportunity to turn off and visit the unique German Chair Museum.
