Elbmarschroute: Altes Land am Elbstrom Cycling Tour

Cycling through the maritime-influenced Kehdingen region. Those who want to walk before the bike tour can take a maritime stroll through Wischhafen. Starting at the Coastal Shipping Museum, information boards explain the cultural history of Wischhafen and provide information on crafts, trade, and the historical locks and ferries of this region. View towers on the way to Freiburg offer a panoramic view over the Elbe. The historic center of Freiburg as well as the harbor with grain storage – bicycle station – invite you to linger before heading towards Hörne, "the land between the dykes." A detour over the Oste to the Natureum Niederelbe is worthwhile. Interactive stations invite you to try things out, changing exhibitions, action days, and boat trips complete the program. Along the South Dyke, the tour continues over the Elbe Dyke to Krummendeich, where the natural swimming pool provides refreshment. The tour through the Dösemoor back to Wischhafen passes through the tranquil Oederquart with St. Johannis Church and Arp Schnitger Organ, and the barefoot path "Von-Korffscher-Weg."
