Stone Route: Old Land on the Elbe River Cycling Tour

Once as a collection of boulders in the garden of stones, once as archaeological monuments in the form of dolmens - stones come in many variations along the tour. From Horneburg Marketplace, the Stone Route runs a short distance on the Old Market Path, where horses used to be led to Horneburg Market. Along the Geest edge, it goes through Dollern, through the Rüstjer Forest, past many prehistoric graves in the town of Harsefeld. In Harsefeld, a walk through the charmingly designed monastery park is worthwhile before continuing towards Issendorf and into the "Garden of Stones" with about 170 boulders of different sizes. On the way to Bliedersdorf, a detour to the Archaeological Education and Hiking Path Daudiek with its stone and mound graves field is worth it. Two stone graves are accessible, and several information boards provide information on the excavation finds. In exactly the opposite direction in Grundoldendorf, there are the four dolmens of Grundoldendorf. Back on the Stone Route, it goes via Nottensdorf with a play and leisure park and Hedendorf to Horneburg.
