A tour through the diverse Geest landscape and to the highest elevation in the holiday region Altes Land on the Elbe River. Along the route from Apensen via Ruschwedel to Harsefeld, millennia-old burial mounds bear witness to the ancient settlement area. In Harsefeld, traces of the feudal rule from over 1,000 years ago and the Benedictine monastery can be found in the monastery park. The tour continues through the old forest area Braken, mentioned as early as the Middle Ages, to Ahlerstedt, Wiegersen, and Sauensiek. The natural swimming pool invites you to take a break. Pebbles and plants ensure a chlorine-free bathing pleasure here before heading to the Litberg, the highest elevation in the region at 65 meters high. From the observation tower, you can enjoy a wide view over the Geest landscape. On the way, a small detour to the historic farmstead Beekhoff in Beckdorf is recommended. East of Goldbeck, there is also a Bronze Age burial mound field. From Goldbeck, the route leads back to Apensen via Nindorf.
