The Südheide offers a variety of cultural and natural treasures: historical land use, special animal and plant species, customs, history and stories, typical festivals, and the peculiarities of its inhabitants. The cultural-historical cycling and hiking trails of the two Heidjerpfade lead along marked paths through heathland, meadows, and forests in and around Wahrenholz. The paths are suitable for families, school classes, nature and culture enthusiasts - in short, for anyone who wants to explore the Südheide with open eyes. For example, the Heidjerpfad Wahrenholz Nord leads to the circular village of Betzhorn, to the largest heathland area in the region, the Heiligen Hain, to the Lönsstein, and to the ponds and flushing meadows.
