Wendland circular route

If you want to experience the Wendland in all its landscape and cultural diversity, this hike is perfect for you! The exciting and relaxing multi-day hike encircles the Elbhöhen-Wendland Nature Park and allows you to choose which direction you want to hike in. It is up to you how you divide the route. With many inclines, it takes you through various natural and cultural landscapes, such as the Göhrde with its rare stag beetle and the fascinating heathland of the Nemitzer Heide. You will also pass by picturesque half-timbered towns and historic round villages from the time of Slavic settlement. Here you can admire the beautiful hall houses and artist studios, as well as visit museums to learn more about the history of the Wendland. Along the extensive stretch along the Elbe, you can enjoy fascinating views of the impressive river landscape of the Elbe Valley and its wildlife, such as storks and beavers.
