Description by the author

The Milower Land has been a region inhabited by people since prehistoric times. Today, the plateaus and depressions left behind by the last ice age offer a diverse hiking area.
After starting from the former manor house through Milow and passing the last houses of the village along the quiet mountain road, the first ascent begins. From the open summit of Milower Mountain, you have a wide view of the green plain of Havelland. You then descend through the forest. Once at the bottom, the Vieritzer Mountain rises before you. The path leads past the district of Wilhelminenthal and along waving fields to a narrow pontoon bridge, where you cross the Stremme.
During the last ice age, a glacier tongue pushed the mountains together here. In between was a huge glacier gate through which the meltwater flowed. Today, the Stremme stream winds between the two elevations, with many water-loving plants and animals making their home along its banks.
Beyond the small bridge, the path climbs a fairly elongated slope under pine trees, up to the height of Vieritzer Mountain. At the highest point, there is a bench - time for a short rest. Then it's downhill again. Watch out for small, funnel-shaped depressions in the sandy soil! This is where the antlion lies in wait for prey. The path now leads along the shady forest edge around the mountain with changing views of the nearby meadows.
The final ascent leads to Bützer Mountain and then back to Milow along the field edge. The idyllic village greets you from afar. Before that, you pass on the right an overgrown, prehistoric burial mound field. At the Wolfsmühle residential area, which originated from a medieval watermill and leads back through Milow along the mountain road, you will reach the manor house again. Be sure to visit the early man of Milow at the Nature Park Center!
TIP: In Friedensstraße, you can discover the birthplace of Carl Bolle, the founder of the famous Berlin dairy C. Bolle. The adjacent villa is the former summer residence of the well-known Berlin milk manufacturer and is now a youth hostel.
