Bike tour around the Großräschener Lake

The 17-kilometer-long circular path around the Großräschener See offers dreamlike panoramas and exciting stopping points. The IBA Terraces, minimalist architecture consisting of three building cubes connected by terraces, were the venue for the International Building Exhibition (IBA) Fürst-Pückler-Land from 2000 to 2010. Today, the visitor center at the IBA Terraces is a popular destination for guests. In the immediate vicinity, there is not only the city harbor and the pier of Großräschen, but also a vineyard. In 2012, the first vines were planted there on the naturally grown soil of the remaining steep slope at the former Meuro open-pit mine.
Not far away is the viewpoint Victoriahöhe on the site of the former Victoria I briquette factory. Almost exactly on the opposite side of the lake is the next viewpoint, the Reppister Höhe. A special feature are the outlines of the seven villages excavated for the Meuro open-pit mine - Bückgen, Großräschen-Süd, Anna-Mathilde, Rauno, Reppist, Sauo, and Birkenhain - in a scale of 1:150 and a stele with place names. From here, you have a beautiful view over Senftenberg, Großräschen, and the vast landscape.

Path condition: The circular route runs on the paved lakeside path. Its hilly profile sets it apart from the other flat lakeside paths. In parts of the route, the asphalt strip consists of two parallel lanes.
