Route description and points of interest:
The nearly 13km hike starts at the Tourist Information Bad Liebenwerda near the marketplace. Heading north is Bahnhofstraße. After crossing the railway tracks past Schwarze Elster, the road turns right and after a few meters leads over Borstorfstraße to the memorial stone Wasserturm (1.6km). Continuing over Bergstraße, a path leads southeast to the outskirts of Bad Liebenwerda to the old gas station on B101 (3.5km).
Once past the gas station, Liebenwerdaer Straße leads towards Dobra to the village church (4.7km) - a late Gothic plastered building with an east-facing nave. Looking at the church's roof structure, you can see the construction year, 1483.
Tip for a stopover: Chainsaw carver Karl Roland, Dorfstraße 11A in Dobra
Then the hike leads to Zeischaer Kiessee. South of Dobra, past the American restaurant "Lonestar Saloon" (check opening hours), the path runs parallel to B101 to the next traffic light crossing and continues towards Zeischa. After half circling the gravel pit, the view wanders to Kiesgrube Zeischa (8.7km). The 80ha gravel pit, which still has economic use today, has also established itself as a recreational area over the years.
Following Bahnhofstraße into Dorfstraße for 1.4km, the road splits. The hike continues to the right. On the left, there is an opportunity for a detour to the restaurant "Zum Elstertal" (check opening hours), which is part of the regional Elbe-Elster menu and offers guests culinary delights of the region (10.1km).
Following the Schwarze Elster downstream for 2.3km, the path leads back towards Bad Liebenwerda (12.4km). Passing the newly opened Wonnemar swimming pool in 2021, on the next bridge, look to the left. Now the Lubwartturm is in front of you, and in the immediate vicinity is the Mitteldeutsche Marionettentheatermuseum. All three attractions invite you to visit after the hike. A few meters further, you will arrive back at the marketplace in Bad Liebenwerda (13.3km).
