Description by the author

The fifth stage of the tour is all about exploring Lake Senftenberger See and lots of industrial culture. From Senftenberg you continue to Niemtsch along Lake Senftenberger See. Lake Senftenberger See is an excellent example of successful re-cultivation. Here, guests can expect excellent bathing areas, plenty of water sports facilities, marinas and an amphitheatre. A detour takes you to Germany’s first garden city, once built as a colony for mining workers; it is considered the most beautiful works housing estate in the Lausitz region.
Via Schwarzheide and Ruhland you reach Lauchhammer - the city of art casting with bio towers and an art casting museum. The destination of this stage destination is Plessa. In the adventure power station in Plessa you can find out all about coal and the stages it passes through and how lignite was converted into electricity here in the 1920s.
