Have you ever heard the bleating of a sky goat? Then you should set off on this tour! With a bit of luck, you'll spot the rare bird that spreads its tail feathers so skillfully during courtship in a zigzag swoop that it makes a bleating sound. This has earned the common snipe the nickname "sky goat". It doesn't really have anything to complain about, at least not around the historic climatic health resort of Kißlegg. The sky goat lives here in an area full of black gold and this is its territory, as it loves to get its feet wet. The many moorland areas are also the actual namesakes of the natural treasure troves. Along basins and hollows, you can enjoy a tour with few inclines and views as far as the Alps, past wet meadows, moorland forests, lakes and ponds as well as small and large moors. Formed during the last ice age around 12,000 years ago, they are a true natural wonder, often the last refuge for rare animals and a habitat for special plants such as orchids. Moors also bind an enormous amount of carbon dioxide - twice as much as all the forests on our planet. So it's time to get off the saddle and immerse yourself in this wondrous and complex microcosm, for example in the Wurzacher Ried, the largest contiguous, intact raised bog in Central Europe. It radiates a beauty all of its own.
