The 58 km long circular tour starts at the Hundertwasser train station in Uelzen, designed by the architectural doctor Friedensreich Hundertwasser. Walk through the unique station building, enjoy golden balls, colorful columns, and mosaics. Then cycle through the Uelzen city center to Groß Liedern and from here through the villages to Gavendorf. North of Gavendorf is the nature reserve "Schwarzes Moor". When you enter, please stay on the paths! Next, you will reach Suhlendorf. Here, in the crafts museum on Mühlenberg, the over 200-year-old post mill "Auguste" reaches into the sky. The "old girl" grinds grain into flour on action days. The museum shows craft professions in the changing of the last 100 years. Take a look into the old workshops of saddlers, wig makers, watchmakers, or into the hair salon from the 50s. From the crafts museum, the path leads back to Gavendorf and then to Molbath. On the outskirts, there is a NABU biotope with an observation platform. Originally a clay extraction area, it has transformed into a wetland with reed beds, ponds, and willows. Here lives the rare moor frog. The males change color to blue during the mating season from April to May. From Molbath, the tour makes a detour via Rosche. From there, cycle to Stöcken. Just before leaving the village, a detour leads south and after about 1.5 km to the water reservoir Stöcken. The "Stapelteiche" attract water birds all year round. In summer and autumn, cranes gather in the shallow water of the basin where they spend the night. From an observation platform, you can overlook everything well. Next stop: the former water mill Oetzmühle. The former grain, oil, and bake mill was first mentioned in 1339. It lost its water rights in the 1930s and was shut down. You continue cycling over the grounds of Woltersburger Mühle. From a mill that was almost dilapidated a few years ago, a place for social engagement, spirituality, and ecology has developed on the outskirts of Uelzen. The tour then leads to Oldenstadt. Nature lovers should visit the NABU-Nest: a beautiful garden area with a pond, old trees, flower meadow, herb spiral, insect hotel, bee teaching stand, and breeding pavilion. Cycling back to the center of Uelzen via the Elbe Seitenkanal, the tour ends at the Hundertwasser train station.
