F5 local hiking trail Feudingen "Around Trauberg, Kratzenberg and Hornberg"

From the hiking sign at the Volksbank, the hiking trail turns right at the intersection to reach the street "Auf der Ley" after about 50 m. Crossing the Feudinge bridge and the railway crossing, we reach the outskirts along the street "Am Hornberg". The path then leads us uphill along the Feudinge valley with wide views over the neighboring villages of Rüppershausen, Oberndorf with a church, and Rückershausen with a ski area. Before we enter the forest at a trail junction, a bench invites us to take a short break. Then we continue hiking, always following the hiking sign F5, along the Trauberg above the Laxbach flowing in the valley, through the spruce forest to Holzhausen. After leaving the forest here, we turn right at the second trail fork. After a short distance, passing by an open stable of an agricultural farm, we turn right again. We leave the small village of Holzhausen on an access road. At the next trail fork, we keep right and hike along the edge of the forest into the wide Welschebach valley. After the open path along the slope, we enter the forest again and briefly go uphill to the right. Then the hiking trail leads above Bermershausen until it reaches a small side valley. In the further course of the trail, we overcome a short ascent until we then pass a hunting lodge on a forest road on the left side, below the path. Following the path, we then reach the Scharfenstein, which in earlier centuries was considered a meeting place for demons and other shady figures. It is also said that there was a tunnel to the castle in Bad Laasphe. The impressive natural monument and the great view of the Lahn Valley, which can also be enjoyed from a bench, compensate for the strenuous ascent. Afterwards, we continue along the path leading back downhill towards Feudingen. After the descent, we reach the starting point of the hike again via the path "Am Vogelsang" and the "Sieg-Lahn-Strasse".
