Handbiketour "Von der Bastei nach Stadt Wehlen"

From the parking lot at the Bastei, we return along the road on which we came. Approx. 220 m after the "Steinerner Tisch" bus stop, where a forest path branches off, we leave the road and cycle downhill towards Wehlen on an initially somewhat gravelly forest path. The route is now signposted as the "Cycle route in the national park". We follow the road into the valley, which becomes ever deeper and more impressive. In the Tscherregrund, the rocks come very close to the path, and here you can also find so-called "Strudeltöpfe" (whirlpools) right on the edge of the path. From the junction into the Uttewalder Grund, a short detour can be made to the "Waldidylle" inn, which is reached after about 600 m. Back on the main route, we soon reach the asphalted Steinrückenweg, which brings us to the small town of Wehlen after a rapid descent.
