The starting point of the circular bike tour is the Kneipp and climatic health resort of Bad Bodenteich. The castle complex in the town center breathes history: The partially preserved keep is equipped with a glass dome and offers a wide view over Bodenteich. Inside, there is an exhibition on weapons and defense technology as well as astronomy from the Middle Ages. On the barefoot path, you can experience how people used to walk without shoes. The museum "German Unity" located in the brewhouse offers exciting insights into the more recent past, informing about the time of the German-German division.
The journey continues south through the open landscape to Abbendorf and Langenbrügge. Along the way, you can enjoy the wide view over meadows and fields. Northeast of Langenbrügge, the great crested newt is protected in a biotope. There are also otters here.
Through meadows and forests, the tour leads to Lüben - a 1000-year-old circular village with magnificent farmhouses. The lovingly cared-for "Museum in the Village of Lüben" displays historical agricultural tools and showcases weaving, spinning, pottery, and beekeeping during events. Even oil is extracted near Lüben!
You reach Lüder via Stöcken and Gannerwinkel. Here stands the St. Bartholomew's Church, built 640 years ago, which once belonged to the Isenhagen Monastery as a pilgrimage church. Nearby, the "Giant of Lüder" has found his place. The 45-ton boulder was recovered from the channel bed at Lüder during the construction of the Elbe-Seitenkanal in 1972 and is one of the largest geological objects of its kind in Lower Saxony.
The final stage leads back to Bad Bodenteich. The health resort entices with leisure activities in the Seepark or with a dip in the cool waters of the forest pool.
