This hike, which is also suitable for families - there are eight playgrounds along the way - follows the Pader river from its sources to its mouth through the most popular recreational areas near the city center just outside the gates of Paderborn. Various lengths of routes are possible: 11.9 km, 8.5 km, 5.5 km, or 4.2 km. All paths are well maintained, some are even asphalted or paved.
The official opening of the PaderWanderung took place as part of the "German Hiking Day 2015", which took place from June 17 to 22 in Paderborn and the Paderborn region.
The PaderWanderung was certified by the German Hiking Association in 2017 and 2020 as a "Quality Trail Hikeable Germany - City Hike"!
