Enjoying cycling in the Eifel is the motto of this bike tour. From the source of the Ahr in Blankenheim, the bike tour initially runs to Ahrdorf on the Ahr cycle path. The route is perfect for leisurely cycling, as the old railway lines have hardly any inclines.
The region around the Kalkeifel cycle path is characterized by limestone mining. Cyclists ride on winding forest paths through the Ahrbach valley over the watershed between the catchment areas of the Ahr and Moselle rivers. At the Dreimühlen waterfall, a little breather is offered before reaching Hillesheim. The journey continues to Oberbettingen-Hillesheim, from where cyclists return to Blankenheim-Wald by train.
Tip: In the small country café Kerpen, there is homemade cake and coffee from the Daun coffee roastery. At the end of the tour, Café Sherlock in Hillesheim entices with its detective delicacies.
