Between primeval dinosaur tracks and the site of the Varus Battle, there are more exciting leaps through time over 105 km. DiVa - four letters stand for the history of a region and the highlights of a hiking trail that runs along the Wiehengebirge in the TERRA.vita Nature and Geopark.

Dinosaurs once dominated the area, before much later the Roman governor Varus sealed his fate here. Evidence of these visits can be found near Bad Essen-Barkhausen in the form of mighty dinosaur footprints, which you can admire on a steep rock face. Information panels and dinosaur models provide insights into the past geological era.
