After starting at the Apollmicke hiking car park, the route initially leads leisurely and mainly flat to Würdinghausen. After Oberhundem, the longer ascent through numerous switchbacks follows up to the Rhein-Weser Tower. After a fast descent, it goes uphill again behind Aue-Wingeshausen to Jagdhaus. Later, you reach Schmallenberg - from here the route leads for many kilometers along the excellently signposted Sauerland Radring. Once back in the Lenne valley, the route concludes by returning through the Veischedetal to the starting point at Apollmicke.
