A noteworthy detour from the 300 km long Loccum - Volkenroda pilgrimage route is the excursion "Bühren Cross Stones". It leads along farm tracks from Löwenhagen through a small-structured field and meadow landscape to the cross stones in Bühren. The stones, which date from the 11th - 13th centuries, originally stood on the Münden-Harste military road in memory of people who had died through accident or murder. The preserved cross stones were erected by the local inhabitants of Bühren on the Teichberg.
