Through the Weyher Bruch

We follow the road "Weyher Bruch", turn right after 1 km, cross the narrow-gauge railway tracks and also the road "Am Weidufer" and reach Horstkamp. When we reach an intersection, we have two options: Either we take the field path to the right to the road "Am Weidufer" and walk back on the cycle path to our starting point. Or we continue on the paved path to the next right turn, take it, and at the next opportunity we turn right again.

There is a memorial stone there, which points to the land consolidation. Then we have reached "Am Weidufer" and follow the cycle path back to the starting point. The path is mostly paved. We walk through the Weyher Bruch, which was only drained towards the end of the 19th century. We pass two horse farms. We cross the narrow-gauge railway tracks twice, formerly from Huchting to Thedinghausen (Pingelheini). Now the route is operated as a museum service from Leeste to Thedinghausen.

We are in the still relatively sparsely built-up area between Leeste and Kirchweyhe and also reach the Leester Marsch, which extends to the motorway. We owe the land consolidation developed hiking trails through the marsh as well as a cycle path to Bremen or Brinkum. With a bit of luck we might see storks, maybe even deer, but certainly horses.
