Möhnesee - Haarstrang Tour

The Haarstrang is one of the sharpest landscape boundaries in Central Europe. The nature presents itself correspondingly versatile. At the beginning of the circular tour, we are accompanied by a view of the Möhnesee and the Arnsberger Wald Nature Park. A detour (600 meters away) is worth it to visit the Drüggelter Chapel. And for those in need of cooling off, take a small detour and use the public bathing area with a sunbathing lawn in Delecke (1 km away) before the steep uphill drive towards Haarstrang.
Furthermore, near the Haarweg is the Bismark Tower in Delecke (intersection B229/B516), which was originally intended as a monument in honor of the first German Chancellor Prince Otto von Bismarck and has served as an observation tower since 1987 (opening hours on request).
After crossing the B516, the view extends far into the agricultural - and for the production of wind energy - used Soester Börde. Now we drive north of the Haarstrang and pass through some villages of the Möhnesee community. A detour to the pasture landscape Kleiberg (700 meters), with its semi-wild horses and cattle on the grounds of a former military training ground, is worth it. Back over the Haarstrang, we then take the Pengel-Anton Route, a former railway line that led from Soest to Brilon. With a view of the Möhnesee again, we return to Körbecke.

The Haarstrang tour can be combined with three other routes at the Möhnesee - the "Staumauer-Tour," the "Große Möhnesee-Tour," and the "Tour Kanzelbrücke." The tours can be started anywhere, the routes are signposted and can be traveled in both directions.
