Möhnetal cycle path - panoramic route

During the tour, much can be discovered: in addition to attractive places, the Möhnetal presents itself from its most beautiful side. Floodplains with lush meadows, green forests, and gentle hills shape the landscape during the tour. And the Möhnetal is undergoing a transformation: Parts of the floodplain are being renaturalized through the "Möhne Life" project. Colorful valley meadows and open floodplain forests are being restored for many animal and plant species of the low mountain ranges, offering cyclists an even greater nature experience in the future.
Railway enthusiasts also get their money's worth. Because large parts of the Möhnetal cycle path run completely flat on a former railway line.
The landscape highlight is the Möhnesee, one of the largest reservoirs in North Rhine-Westphalia. The route runs along both its south and north shores, offering pure nature. In addition, the impressive and 100-year-old dam, which is still the heaviest historic monument in North Rhine-Westphalia today, provides a great view over the lake.
In Arnsberg-Neheim, cyclists experience a contrast compared to the rest of the route: the attractive shopping city offers urban life directly on the Ruhr.
