Village tour Suttrop

The start of the circular hike is the opening of the Dorpke installed in 2012, which runs from several sources above in pipes and has been made visible again here. There are plenty of parking spaces available. The path leads through the hollow way into the fields south of Suttrop. Afterwards, it goes to the "Grube Rom" located in the 13-hectare nature reserve Oberhagen. Among other things, you can also find the Turk's cap lily here in large numbers. You should be sure-footed on the way to the Treisequelle, which is located at the foot of the Oberhagen. The path leads on asphalted roads past the sculpture "Die Eisengießer" towards the area of the LWL clinics in the western part of Suttrop. The farm shop at the manor house with an attached café invites you to take a break before the path leads through the park grounds of the LWL site past the St. Elisabeth Church and the forest stage uphill to the reservoir. From the reservoir, the path continues to the Stillenberg Chapel built in 1872. At the end of the path from the chapel, you have an excellent view over Suttrop and the surrounding villages of Kallenhardt, Rüthen, and Altenrüthen. From here, the route leads to the excursion destination "Zur Bohnenburg", which invites you to take a break in its cozy beer garden. Strengthened, the path then leads through the forest on the "Bohnenburger Trift" past the stream "Glenne" to the cycle path on the L735. Following the cycle path, you will return to the village of Suttrop in the "Ostfeld", where in 2019 at the entrance to the village the Suttrop coat of arms was created as a flower bed. Several restored half-timbered houses such as the old sexton's house line the remaining path to the starting point. The church with its onion dome is a rarity for the region. In the immediate vicinity, at Johannesplatz, there is a stone sculpture of the Suttrop diamonds. The restaurant "Bültmann" just before the finish offers a final rest before heading back past the renovated "Haus Steinrücken 1" to the parking lot.
