The 67 km long circular tour - ideal for e-bikes - starts in Rosche. There, it is worth taking a look at and inside the church of St. Johannis. It was inaugurated in 1862 in the presence of King Georg V of Hanover, who presented the community with a magnificent organ. The tour leads eastwards. After Zarenthien, you leave the district of Uelzen and cycle into the Wendland with its round villages. You can tell why they are called that when you are in the village center. There, you will see residential buildings and structures, all facing the village square with their "faces" and arranged in a circular manner around it. Usually, there is only one access road. This village form is typical for the Wendland and is still preserved in many places.

The tour continues through open landscapes, through forests and villages until you reach Redemoißel. To the west lies the Hohe Mechthin, at 142 meters the highest elevation far and wide. You can climb up via hiking trails and enjoy the view from the 30 m high observation tower.

Back on the main route, you continue cycling towards Göhrde. The Göhrde State Forest is part of the Elbhöhen-Wendland Nature Park and is located on a high plateau in the Drawehn. It is the largest contiguous mixed forest area in northern Germany. Here, very old Scots pines, beeches, spruces, and oaks grow. Many giant trees are natural monuments, and entire forest sections are protected, such as the Breeser Grund and the "Beech Forests in the Göhrde". The Göhrde is home to rare animals such as beetles, e.g., hermit and stag beetles, or red and fallow deer, and European mouflons.

If you want to know more about the Göhrde, stop by the Waldmuseum Naturum Göhrde. The current museum building was built in 1672. It was part of the former hunting lodge Göhrde as the "Celler Stall". After a turbulent history, it became a forest museum in 1985. The exhibition tells the nature and hunting history of the Göhrde, provides information on forest ecology and nature conservation. The Wildlife Cinema shows the life of forest animals, and on the nature trail and in the forest labyrinth, you can experience and understand the Göhrde.

The tour continues, often through deep forests. After Zernien, you drive into the district of Uelzen, where the landscape opens up, and you cycle along fields and meadows again. Shortly before Rosche, you pass by the gravel pit. If you like, take a break by the water or jump into the cool water. From here, it is only a few minutes to the starting and ending point Rosche.
