The consistently asphalted path leads through several heath villages. Especially Linden and the over 1000-year-old Brockhöfe with its old village center offer picturesque photo motifs.
Shortly after Eimke with the beautiful fieldstone church St. Marien (14th century), you reach the 70 hectare Ellerndorfer Juniper Heath. Several hiking trails lead through the typical landscape, which is worth a visit all year round. During the blooming season in August/September, you can meet the shepherd with his heath sheep herd here.
On the cycle path and via small, almost car-free side streets, you reach Bode. A detour leads to the ramparts of an old ring castle from around 1000 AD. According to legend, a robber knight carried out his mischief from here.
A few more kilometers through the countryside. The route runs through the outskirts of Hanstedt I. In sight is a historic water mill, whose origins date back to 1368. The production was only discontinued in 1981. The mill technology is preserved and can be visited by appointment (Hermann Müller, Tel .: 0 58 22 / 39 15).
A small detour into the village center leads to the fieldstone church St. Georg. Parts of the building date back to around 980. The design of the interior is remarkable, with a valuable winged altar from the 15th century. The 4-kilometer-long "Resurrection Path" begins in the forecourt with pictures by the artist Werner Steinbrecher. The path ends at the Ebstorf Monastery and can alternatively be used for the return journey.
Regularly, the route leads through the villages of Teendorf and Tatendorf back to Ebstorf. Here, a visit to the over 800-year-old heath monastery with its famous world map is a must. You can end the day with a cup of coffee in the historic town center.
