The easy and very beautiful winter hike begins at the Hüttenteich. The Hüttenteich is located on the outskirts of Altenau.
Follow the wide forest path along the left bank of the Hüttenteich. After about 4 km you will reach the main road leading to Dammhaus. From here, walk about 300 m along the roadside and reach the excursion restaurant "Dammhaus".
