The holiday region of Eslohe & the Schmallenberg Sauerland belong to the most forested areas in Germany. The wonderful circular route, which covers 68 km along the municipal boundaries of Eslohe and the neighboring cities of Schmallenberg, Meschede, Sundern, and Lennestadt, offers great views near and far.
Guess which town the church tower belongs to, peeking out behind the next mountain. And discover the small and large villages within the municipality from a completely different perspective. Along the way, you will find a wide variety of herbs, butterflies, and other insects; you might even admire some of the rare ant hills. Or listen to the different bird calls that will accompany you on your way through deciduous and coniferous forests or past green meadows.
It is a great circular route that offers many entry points, allowing even young hiking enthusiasts to try out different route lengths – and if you change direction on certain stages, it's not just uphill!
