Heath, Schwalm & Moor (Circular hiking trail Schwalmbruch)

On the circular hiking trail, you will discover various plant and animal species. With a bit of luck, you can observe smooth snakes, newts, various frog species, and dragonflies. Also, hobbies, red-backed shrikes, blackcaps, and many other bird species call this place home. Plants such as bog lilies, sundews, bog myrtle, cranberries, and peat moss grow here under ideal conditions.
The circular hiking trail is interesting all year round - especially at the end of August / beginning of September during the heather bloom. From the observation tower, you get a panoramic view of the unique juniper heathland and the adjacent bog myrtle moor with its many habitats and high biodiversity. Various dragonfly species, frogs, and newts frolic around the old Schwalm meander. In winter, the juniper heathland shines enchantingly in the sun with a bit of snow. From the boardwalk over the species protection water, you can observe the wildlife of the marshland area particularly well.
