Culinary bike tour at Möhnesee

We start in Körbecke. The main town of the municipality of Möhnesee offers a large number of free parking spaces as well as various dining and leisure options, so that after the tour we still have many good reasons to linger.
From there we cycle west towards Westrich. The path leads through fields above Lake Möhne and offers a wonderful view of the Westphalian Sea. This is topped when we turn right in Westrich and ride up to the Haarstrang ridge, where we must definitely take a short break at the highest point of the tour to admire the view. We continue to Thing Hof in Theiningsen. The rustic café with its inviting garden does not make the decision to continue easy! Back again, we head east over the Haar, turn right onto a field path, pleasantly rolling downhill towards Haus Delecke, where we continue along the water on the right hand side. Shortly after, we reach the impressive dam. Just walking across the top (please push your bike) gives an impression of the dimensions. 40 meters high, 650 meters long, and over 100 years old!
The tour leads straight into the nature reserve Hevearm and Hevesee, home to many water birds and also a stopover and wintering site for up to 10,000 birds annually. On the Heve Peninsula, three nature balconies offer a view of the landscape and its inhabitants. In addition, the information stations of the nature promenade Water and Forest on the 3.6 km long riverside path provide information about the flora, fauna, and history of the region.
Continuing along the south bank, we reach Stockumer Damm. After crossing, a small detour along the lakeside road uphill takes us to Löershof, where the Abel nursery is located along with a small shop selling regional fruits and vegetables. Additionally, you can tap apple juice from apples grown on site or purchase wine and delicacies. Returning along the lake, we head back towards Körbecke, where the Seepark entices with many gastronomic offers. It is now not far back to the starting point of the tour in Körbecke, at the Haus des Gastes.
