Volme Treasure - A region and its river

The region "Oben An der Volme" is rich in forests and water. That is why one of the two themed paths in Schalksmühle is dedicated to the river that winds through the valley of Meinerzhagen to Hagen, where it flows into the Ruhr. Exciting themed boards provide information about the significance the river has always had for humans and the environment, its use, and ecological aspects.
Beyond the Volme, in the nature reserve "Notkleff", the hiking trail ascends about 1.5 km to the settlement "Stöcken". The impressions in the forest area and the view of the Breckerfelder countryside, however, make up for the effort. The path then meanders gently back down to the starting point (hiking car park) near Dahlerbrück station. The environmentally friendly journey through the Volmetal from Lüdenscheid or Hagen is therefore easily possible.
Special features along the way: in addition to the information boards with exciting information and some QR codes for further videos or audio tracks, you can also discover a treasure chest of experiences and a panoramic picture frame along the way.
