Hiking Voerde 2: Three "Houses" Circular Route

The approximately 6 km long circular route leads you from the Götterswicker Rhine promenade through the lush and idyllic hinterland to Wasserschloss Haus Voerde and back again. Along the way, you can explore the sites of three former manor houses:
The rustic House Götterswick, which according to legend was built by the knight Godert in the middle of a wick, which over time gave rise to the place name Götterswick. The majestic House Voerde, surrounded by a moat. The tower roof of the decaying and demolished House Ahr, where a love story once took place.

The Momm wetland, where storks often wade on its lush meadows. The historic over 1000-year-old Rheindorf Götterswickerhamm with the Evangelical Church designed by the Prussian architect Karl Friedrich Schinkel. The imposing and since 2017 decommissioned Voerde coal-fired power plant.
Finally, enjoy food and drink with a view of the Rhine in one of the 3 restaurants in Götterswickerhammer.
The route is consistently flat, making it enjoyable even for inexperienced hikers.
